Thinking back on 2010, Lately it's been sucky, but when I think about it it really wasn't that bad of a year...
I've had the greatest experience of my life, going to Japan, enjoying the summer comiket, Akihabara, Maid Café. I've also had good time with Elisa, even if it did not last long. Anime north was great, G-anime sucked but oh well, what do you expect...
This year was bad on the love side, I mean I did have good time with Elisa, but it was at the start of the year, since then everything went bad...
It was mainly a bad political year in the land of the Quebec's Anime community. Lot's of hypocrisy, lots of lie, lots of useless and baseless little wars... I just don't give a shit about that anymore.
Made good friends, and good enemy...
Lots of good music got released, lots of crappy games too.
Lot's of awesome Anime, and the best Anime movie of all time.
I guess I'm complaining for nothing,
Let's all hope for an even better 2011! (Japan again I hope :D)

Désolé aussi a ceux qui venais me parlé quand Luc approchais afin de pouvoir l'évitez, vous devrez trouver un autre moyen ^^;

Very late review of 'Endless Seeker'
Here is my (Very Late) Review of SOUND HOLIC's C78 release, featuring 709sec. "Endless Seeker".
So, for those who did not know, 709sec has been the main male vocalist for SOUND HOLIC for a while already, so why does it say feat, 709sec.? Because he was the one who arranged every songs on the album.
This release is a Touhou Arrange release, and is very metallical in nature, in good old SOUND HOLIC fashion. If you liked "Phantom Dreamer" and "Metallical Astronomy", this album is for you.
I was in line for 1:30 during comiket to get my hands on this album, and it was totally worth it. It's the album I've listened to the most since that. Every song on this album is a hit. The album start strong with a remix of a song from a previous album (Night Bird from 永 -TOKOSHIE- ) called "Night Bird EX". This remix takes an already pretty good song and put it up there in my all time favourite songs. It is actually my favourite song on an album filled with excellent songs. While it can be said for most of the album, I think that this song is almost guilty by itself of giving me that urge I got recently of wanting to buy a Drum. Ken☆Ken's Drumming and abuse of the hi-hat gives me orgasm from my ear.
709Sec.'s Engrish is as awesome as ever. I don't think anyone else than him could misspell stuff like this and make it sound so epic.
It would be very long to tell about every song of the album since they are all pretty much awesome songs. The only song that is not 5 starred in my iTunes from this album right now is "Aura Ole" which is still a very good song, just not as incredible as the others.
I will however talk about "FIRE FLOWER" since it was the song from the PV released for this album that you can watch here:
While the PV isn't that impressive animation wise, the drawing are really nice. But this is a musical review so what we want to know is: Is the song good, and does it represent the album accurately?
Yes to both question, While not the best song on the album according to my taste, the drum, voice and general melody and performance of the song is all top-notch. This time 709Sec. sings half in Japanese and half English, so there's less Engrish in the song, except for the 'rap' part of the song. The drum is very powerful in the song and so is the guitar. the way 709Sec. shout 'FIRE FLOWER' is pretty epic tough, so if sometime you ear me shout this for no reason, I'm not thinking about Mario's fire flower, but about this song or Mokou.
While almost every song on this album is awesome (I have never given so many 5 stars on an album before) as a whole, there isn't a sense of unity in the album, and that would be the only negative point to the album.
so it gets 9.5/10
It really is a must listen.

Answer to my last post.
So I've had a lot of comments about my last post (IRL and on MSN mostly) and I've decided to explain some things...
First: Love brings more pain than it can bring happiness: OVERALL.
meaning, even if some people are very very lucky and gets more happiness from it, if you add everyone, there will be more pain.
Second: I still think that love is worth the pain, considering the world we live in.
I will probably never stop fighting, and giving my all, in my quest for what I call love.
Of course I had much more than that to say, but since I waited too long, well I forgot about it!

Love brings way more pain than it can ever bring happiness
For MOST relationship there is always 3 periods, some only have two, but most have 3, here they are:
Most of the time the step 1 is lived only by 1 of the 2 person involved in the relationship and end up being being painful for both if the step 2 is never reached. Of all the relations that were ever started, a vast majority never reach step 2 and this cause a lot of pain to be felt by both involved parties. The one who is in love, will feel pain for not being loved back, and this pain will be as big as his love was. The more love there was the more pain there is, but this is exponential to a point because some of the people who will never reach step 2 with their loved one will keep staying there, forever, hoping that one day she/he will look back at her/him with the same love. All this time, pain was felt, for both side, because seeing someone that loves you so much, but that you just don't like, is painful in a way too. It's not easy to know that you are going to crush someone's heart.
If/Once step 2 is reached, there is happiness, a lot of it, especially in the first days, and if the couple was really meant to be it will last... for a while. But nothing is forever, while there is a very little microscopic small chance that the two lovers will die at the same moment, this chance is so low that we can safely consider it inexistent. So one day, this happiness will be broken, either by love becoming non-existent from one side, or by the death of one of them.
Step 3: after the relationship
when a couple is breaking, there is always more pain felt from one side than the other. There is always someone who will still be in love, someone who still believe it was for life and that they should not break. Pain will be felt, and it can take up to forever to completely heal from this. Some people will spend their life mourning their first love, while it does not make them unable to love again, this feeling will always stay. And even on the side of the one who is breaking the couple, it's not easy there, and hurt too.
I have personally felt what kind of pain is related to having your love die, but My father died, and it hurts, I can only begin to imagine how much it must hurt, when the person you love the most in the world die, and how long it hurt.
So While happiness is brought by love, it will never be enough to surpass all the pain it cause in the world.
Of course this text do not apply to DOUCHEBAGS, since they can date/fuck/ho out with tons of people, without caring. Well fuck you I don't want of your false love, it's more empty than my pain anyway.
- The flirting/dating/pre-relation stuff
- The Relation
- Post relation either due to breaking or death.

(Kimino-Museum) - Viator de memoria - Episode I -
This is one of the album I could not get my hand on during Comiket. It was sold out when I got to Kimino-museum's table. It took a while before it got out on the interwebs, but since I've downloaded it I can't stop listening to it. I'm clearly gonna get it, whatever it takes.
So here comes my first CD review from C78 (yeah im late) and also my first review on anything for a while, other should be coming eventually I guess, but probably only after Halloween since I've got to work hard on my costume!
First thing, Viator de memoria, while being sold at C78, by a Circle who does Touhou arrange, is not a Touhou arrange. It's an Original album, containing it's own world and own story. And it's pretty important since the album is a story told to the listener. I don't understand japanese that much so far, but from what I got by listening to it over and over again, the story is about a girl who buy a watch from a shop, and the watch contain the memories of other people, who apparently had a tragedy, and a love triangle.
This story driven album is strong in emotions, and even if you do not understand japanese, the performance of the musical genius that are Kimino-museum will make you feel these emotions, The singer are just perfect, the harmony created by the singers, singing different verse, all at the same time, conveying different feelings, It's just wonderful. The lead singer, Cherose, is simply as it's best, delivering a strong performance, full of emotions. Most people ignore this but Cherose suffer from asthma, it's not written anywhere, I was ust witness to it while I was seing them live, between songs he had to use an inhalator. This doesn't stop him from singing long and powerful notes full of emotion.
fi-fy and 723 playing Eris and Ceres and also giving a wonderful performance and often sing together to create an astonishing harmony. I'm personally a big fan of fi-fy since I saw her live, she's just so cute, and her voice if so nice. Her performance on this album is up to my expectation, and actually has even made me a greater fan of her... however, I didn't really care about 723 before this, now I'm also a fan of her.
This album carry a mood with it. There is a lot of piano, and even if it's not a fast beat, the drum is always there to intensify the mood. PHEVOTT (piano, guitar and accordion) composed the music from the album and did a wonderful job, especially with the vocal harmony wich is the strongest point of the album.
The only negativ point I see with that album is that it is a little short, and the story is unfinished at the end... that's why it's episode 1. I want to ear episode 2 already!
10/10

OMG! It's a new post!
Ok, sorry everyone I haven't posted since I've been back from japan. Lots of stuff happened, I broke with my GF like 3 weeks ago (my notion of time sucks as always). We both decided it was over, it was done nicely and we are still very good friends so do not worry about that.
I had lots of albums from Comiket to listen to, so I'm definitely not gonna review them, but I am gonna review SOUND HOLIC's Endless Seeker, which is probably one of the best album I've ever heard.
Japan was awesome and I really miss it. Sometimes I have flashes of memory that comes to me when I do different stuff, and then I feel nostalgic, and just want to go back already... I am definitely going to go back, but I hope I will not be alone this time.
Lots of other stuff happened more recently, which is actually the main reason why I have no written here yet... but I wont enter in the details of it, there is still some information that needs to be hidden.
When there is an awesome goal to achieve, when the prize is that wonderful, You just got to keep trying, never give up. Keep fighting until the end, until all of you spirit is completely destroyed, and even then, just keep going because in the end, it'll all be worth it!

It's my last day. Tomorow I take the plane back to Quebec. I don't want to, but oh well. I loved my trip, and I will surely come back... many times!

Insanity day 2

Realy, there's no word to describe Comiket, the real one, saturday. Imagine the biggest crowd you've seen at any live event you've been, now add 3 more times as much, but more controlled. Add to this the humidity of japan, and the sweat from everyone. It might give you a little idea of what it looks like. It's really insane.
But I survived! Even if I almost fainted once.
And I was able to speak with Miko! And I told her she has the most beautiful voice in the world! She's so freakingly cute IRL, and her voice really is beautiful! KKKKKKKAAAAAAAWWWWWAAAAAIIIIIII!!!!!
Actually, it's just after that that I almost fainted, but it was not related, it was because of dehydration.

Comiket day 1
Comiket is awesome, today was probably Yaoi day tough, so lots of yoai doujinshi. I uploaded the pictures, but we got there kind of late so you wont see the super long waiting line... tomorrow tough i'm taking the first train so I will live this waiting line!
-

Kimino-Museum
Finally the show I went to see, wasn't just a show, it was a festival, so there was 11 band and it lasted 8 hours. It was awesome, but I didn't eat and I was tired at the end. Lots of good bands, but not enough time from each. Like 3-5 song each band. Kimino-Museum show was the best, there were at the top, and they played my 3 favorite songs. It took 2 hours to come back so now it's really late, and comiket is tomorow, so Good night!

All Maid cafe are not born equals.
So I had a little money I could spend on maid café, so I went to a new one. It sucked, almost no service and... gaijin maids... WTF. So i left, and went back to the first maid café. Ichi-chan is so cute ^^ .
Today I also went to Ueno park and Shibuya... There nothing to see in shibuya except for the big crossing so here's a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4E2DJlhXjA
Ueno is so big, the park has multiple shrine, and things to see, it's also pretty peaceful considering the number of people and tourist there.
I uploaded pictures of both places.
I also uploaded pictures of other place I went but didn't get a blog update.
-

Shinjuku
I took the wrong train for roppongi, and decided to go with the flow and go out where everyone else would... Well Shinjuku is corlorfull, but a stranger alone in there is a prey for the protitution market. got stopped by 3 Macros and 1 gril who spoke of something that lasted 7 minutes, so I left.
I hated shinjuku very much.
I uploaded the pictures from Akihabara and Shinjuku.

Soooo, I finally went to Akihabara... It's wonderfull, It's all i've been dreaming of... Maid cafe are SO FUCKING AWESOME, I got a freaking Moe overdose. KYAAAAAA
But... Akihabara is also really expensive... especially the maid cafe... I'll be on a strict budget for the rest of my trip.
I went into doujins shop, including the one they go to in Genshiken... it's... wow... your eyes just get raped, and then you ask for more... it's a good thing buying most of these would have gotten me in trouble at the custom so I didnt buy any...
The saying that, the more you go far from the main street, and the higher you get in the stories, the cheaper it'll be, is kind of true but... Once i've finally got the feel of what Akiba is... when I noticed "omg this is so cheap" is also the moment I noticed, I was out of money!
Don't worry I had left most of my money at the hotel, so I'm ok :P
I took a couple of picture but there's nothing really to see, you have to live it to feel it.
I'm going to Roppongi now, I'll upload pictures later.

Osaka
first day: Osaka castle
The castle is hard to get too, very high, but it's very beautiful... on the outside, inside it's just a regular museum.
we ate in a cafe with maids, but not a maid cafe.
The street we were on was the busiest of the city, it's awesome to look at... and I think I got a taste of what tokyo will be when I finally move around.
every 1 in 10 shop is an arcade, and every arcade has also slot mahicnes (pachinko) in it.
In the evening Hisaki-san's daughter came with us to eat and sing at the karaoke. Both of them have a nice voice, it was a really fun evening.
day 2: more wandering in the city, pretty much the same, nothing more to say.
http://picasaweb.google.com/doshurikn/OsakaDay1#
http://picasaweb.google.com/doshurikn/OsakaDay2#
Premier jour: Chateau d'Osaka.

Kyoto Day 2, Ayarashima!
Day 2 in kyoto started with a quick visit to the International Kyoto Manga Museum. There was a Range Murata exposition that was very nice, and 1 room wich explained history of manga. Guides were available for french and english. However the museum was more like a big library and not of big interest (except for the Range Murata exposition wich was awesome.
After that I met with Hisako-san and we took the train for Arashiyama, a little town a little north of kyoto.
At the arrival I tryed a foot onsen... a very hot bath for the feets. I dont understand why japanese loves very hot bath that much, especially when it's so hot... but it did feel good for my sore feets.
After visiting the stores around there we went to the Tenryu-ji temple. The temple is nice, but what is more impressive is what they call the garden... I would call it a little forest. It's really huge and beautiful.
After leaving the temple we went to take a lunch and I could finally taste what I want to taste for so long. A real japanese Curry. IT TASTE WONDERFULL. The curry at the Phoenix in quebec city is really not even close to this.
After this we wandered around the town, the many shops, and the bridge.
2 japanese style meal were included with my hotel room, so I ate alone... traditional japanese food. I didn't even know how to eat most of that stuff... and it wasn'T that good except maybe for that one surprise I got... I eated an Eel... yes an Eel... im still surprised.
In the evening we went on a boat in the river to watch the Ukai. Ukai is how japanese fishing with cormoran is called. I don't think japanese are the only one doing this, but it's stil impressive seeing the japanese doing it.
That sums up kyoto day 2.

The name of the big shrine I went to the first day is Heian Junga.

My Whole hurt.
My first day in Kyoto was great, but I dont have much time to talk so Ill go fast.
Went to Naji caster, this caster is a world tresaure, it has seen the rise and fall of kyoto. Its great and I took a bunch of pictures outside, because no picture was allowed inside.
Then I went to a temple which I forgot the name of, this thing is huge!
I paid hommage to the god (bow bow clap clap bow) and bought there papers with your luck written on it. I have a little luck (which mean im lucky). The Miko was so cute but I couldnt take a picture of her.
After this we went through Gion but we were late so we just passed by, I wish we could have spend more time there, no pictures.
The food I ate today was awesome. Shabu Shabu here tase a million times better than in montreal.

I don't know what time is it for you, but it's almost 10pm here.
The plane was nice, but I didn't like my experience at Narita's airport.
My hotel is so far from everything, my room is so small.
I forgot my Camera's cable so I won't be able to tranfer pictures.
But at least I got the internet in my room!...
but I dont have any power outlet!
The lady at the front desk is really nice.
Kyoto tomorow! I hope things will go better.
I can't upload pictures from myy camera, but I ca at least take a picture of my room with my webcam! (see above)

Time to go!
That's it! I'm leaving today for Japan, next time I write here I will be in the land of my dreams. Considering the path this blog will take I will translate my text in French for the people who can't read English well. But both version will still say the same so nobody will miss anything :)
Something incredible hapenned. Kimino-museum are doing a Live while I'll be in japan, so I wanted to go see them but I was unable to purchase a ticket on their website due to my inability to provide a Japanese address. So I wrote them a mail and they answered me, So i'm on the VIP list for the show! Isn't that awesome :D.
Well... See you all later !

204 hour left before I board the plane.
I'm leaving for Japan in 204 hours, I'm really starting to get nervous.
Going to Japan has been my dream for a while already, anyone that ever spoke to me for more than 30 mins know how obsessed I am with Japan. I'm finally going there!
As you know I will try to update this blog every day while I will be over there, I'll also be posting picture to my Picasa album which is located here. (nothing to see there yet)
Started doing my luggage. I hope I won't forget anything... even If I get the feeling that I will.
If anyone has some ideas on what I should not forget please feel free to post in the comment section, it would be greatly appreciated.

Angel Beats' Review - written in tears
So, I just finished watching Angel Beats... while at first it may seem to be a pretty average Anime, the more you get in the more awesome it becomes. Tears are rolling on my face as I am writing this, so My review will probably not be very objective, but... the story is so beautiful and touching. The serie is funny at the right place, and so cute and sad... and sweet and... bbbaawwwwwwwwwwww.....
Kanade (Tenshi - the girl on the right) is really awesome.
While you can predict the ending will be sad from very early into the Anime, the ending itself isn't that predictable. Some people didn't like the ending, I loved it.
For a the morons out there that believe there will be a season 2, that's because you actually didn't understand the Anime at all.
I don't really have much more to say, considering my state after watching this... while it it sad and cute, it's not sad in a "omg it's so sad I'm gonna die" ef or Nana can be, it's too cute for that.... but I'm still shocked after watching it... It a must see for anyone with a heart.
10/10

Blog's new style
Well I updated the blog's style. I made the top picture with chibis I found on the web, I learned not to hate GIMP anymore in the process.
I'm also writing this with blogger's new post editor... so far I can't see anything new but oh well. Maybe I need to add pictures and stuff to see what's new...
The style might still change again... I like the picture at the top so I made the title unreadable in order to see the picture, but I might change that later on, but really who cares about the title.
Nothing more to say and time to go to work!

Blogger's update and update about the blog
I have not been coming to my blog for a while, but a lot happened... so much that I did not know what to write... so I come back here and see that there's a new awesome template designer, so my blog's gonna change face soon.
Also this place is gonna be my Travel's journal when I leave to japan on July 31.
I'm still gonna try to write a couple of things here before I leave... while I know almost nobody is reading this here, some see it in buzz, and also some will see it in the future.
...
Since I'm writing I should actually do an update on me too. I went to Anime North, It was awesome, I got new friends, deepened friendship with some old friends and I got a girlfriend too now!
She's so sweet and incredible. She represented Canada in floristry at Worldskill internationals 2009 and finished 7th in the world, just 5 points behind a bronze medal, that's pretty awesome, and she's also international master in masquerades (cosplay).
Being proud of his girlfriend feels nice.
On another news, I'm still a Touhou freak, I still love Touhou, and I will spend a lot of money on Touhou when I go to COMIKET this summer. YES COMIKET! FUCK YEAH!
I'm also gonna go see Maximum the hormone and Kimino-museum while I'll be in japan! God I can't wait!!!!!!
I've got some advancement at my job... well not really, but kinda... I might be a floor lead soon, if we get a project that don't interfere with my travel. But even If I don't get the job I'm still happy because of all the good comments I got about my job, it feels good to be appreciated.
Nothing more to say for now!

Innocent Key -
Reitaisai 7's release from Innocent Key, (Touhou Celeb).
The preview videos for the album were great so I had been expecting this one for a while, but only crappy version was available on the web until yesterday. You can see the videos on the album's page on Innocent Key's website here.
The album in a whole is pretty average, most of the song are so~so and the engrish in some is simply awful, A handful l of song manage to save the album. Of course the two song from the videos, 東方格差社会 ~ウサビーズへようこそ!~ and 東方セレブ ~ABUNAI SISTERS~, are as good as they were on the videos, but Miko's and ARM's participation in the album is really what saves it for me. Miko's voice is as wonderful as always and still does the best Cirno around in the song While I don't know exactly where all the musics come from in ARM's mix, it's simply epic.
The surprise in this CD comes from track 9 however. the song 'Concealed.' probably has one of the best drums I've heard in any Touhou arrange album before. The guitar is pretty solid and the vocals are great. This track is probably worth a purchase by itself.
If you like IOSYS you'll probably enjoy the album, while not completely, the good tracks on it are really worth it.
8/10
also Miko's voice is awesomely awesome.

AKG k 271 Studio
Before anyone who stumbles upon this post start to read, I am by no way an Audiophile. I love music, I was tired of shitty headphones, had a big tax return and decided to treat myself to some good stuff.
Now the review.
The look (because, you know it's important to look bad ass): They me not be as beautiful as the 701 or 702, but they have the same design overall, a pretty fucking nice design if you ask me. They are black, closed, and give a look of "omg these look like some GOOOODDDD headphones"
The Sound: Well headphones are all about sound, but like I said, I'm not an audiophile. With that said, these headphones sound just awesome. The gain is good enough to have the perfect volume on my stereo. I even noticed a third guitar in the song "serenade of darkness" by "Axel rudi Pell" I had never noticed before.
The comfort: Once again, I've tried the 701 when I went to buy these, they don't compare, but they are still very comfortable, I don't think I'd go for 8 hours wearing them if I could avoid it. But they are still very comfortable, even with my glasses on, the pression on the side is minimal.
The misc: there's a sweet feature that make the headphones auto-mute when you remove them. I think it's neat, but I can see that being a trouble in the future, and something that might be 'the first thing to break' on them. The cable in unplugable from the headphones so if the cable get damaged, it can be changed by itself.
Overall: 250$ is not cheap, but I'm very happy about buying these. I do not regret buying them and I enjoy every seconds I have them on my head. While they could have been a little more comfortable, I have nothing to say against the sound or anything else.
9/10
Also I need to get better quality encode of most of my music now... ><

Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.
The last movie from Kyoto animation, in the Haruhi Suzumiya series. It got out in Japanese cinemas February 6th 2010. Mazui subbed it a couple of days ago so I was finally able to check it out.
I'm a big fan of Haruhi, I've bought every Novel out in English so far, bought the special edition of the first season's DVD.
Then Season 2 come out, Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody was awesome and really got my hopes up... but then... there was... Endless 8... 8 time the same episode, slightly changing angles and clothes... over and over again... I understand the principle of it, it's time recursion it have to feel like a long time, and it had to feel boring so we felt what Yuki felt... but 8 time is just way too much. The idea would have been great if it would have been 3 or 4 episodes at most. Maybe they wanted 8 episodes because a 8 sideways if the infinity sign...
Anyway, Haruhi franchise took a big drop after this, the remaining episodes of the season 2 were good but not good enough to excuse the endless 8 fiasco.
However, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, is so awesome, that if put back the Haruhi franchise even above what it was after season 1.
The acting of the Seiyu is perfect, the animations are simply wonderful. Unfortunately, the version I saw had a pretty bad image quality since it came from a Camera rip, but, even having to deal with the eye cancer it can cause, it really worth it to see an animation of that quality. The story by Nagaru Tanigawa is so deep and complex, leaving you with that "wtf" feeling that a good show gives you, while giving you enough answer to actually not become a "we're just fucked up" show. Without going into too much details, the plot surprised me, which has become a very rare thing from any movie or series. It was excellent and the development of the characters was also done masterfully.
I haven't read that part of the novel yet since it is not out in English as of the time of this posting, however I've read on a forum that some parts of the story that would have been needed were excluded from the movie. I felt the movie was complete in itself, even if it left some unanswered questions, but there is still 6 more books to cover after that so it's only normal that a lot of questions are unanswered.
It's a must see for any Anime fan, and a 'you will die if you don't see it' for any Haruhi fan.
10/10.
Also...
Nagato is my Goddess. I love her.
Praise Nagato!

Dealing with stupid people sucks
Did you know it? dealing with stupid people sucks, especially when you have to deal with them in order to organize a big event in your city, and they are not even from your city, and they somehow got involved because some other people, almost as stupid as the first one, think they are important.

Hello everyone!
Hey everyone! it's been a while! I know I never update, but making a post just about the fact that I dont ost would be pretty pointless so here's some information.
With the recent CD hunt created by the hapenning of Reitaisai 7 last weekend, someone, I think it was on /jp/, said that we needed a wiki for doujin music. I agree, so I made one.
Anyone who think they can help you are welcome to come and edit stuff!
the adresse is doujinmusic.wikia.com
in other news, miko started a new solo project called Alternative Ending. She released her first album december 30, 2009. It's called 'Everlasting Snow'.
I'm a little late on that news, sorry.
Did not have time to listen to it a lot yet, so I can't make a review, but her voice is as wnderfull as ever.
I will post more updates on the wiki and the bunch of new albums relased at R7 later.
