2011

This is probably my last post of the year.
I've complained a lot this year, like any years, but overall, this has probably been the happiest year of my life.
I've got a job that pays well, is fun, has lots of challenge, and I work with people I like (of course there's people I don't like too but that's just normal).
I've been single most of the year but I learned to live with it, and be happy with myself, and I remembered one of the most important thing I had forgotten about.
I AM AWESOME
I must thanks my bros, Jo and Luk, for helping me remember that.
Thanks to that, I was able to end this year, as the happiest man.
I am now madly in love, and I get that love returned back to me, with the cutest, most beautiful, most gentle and most wonderful girl.
I'm literally floating in a cloud right now.

2011 has been awesome, but I want 2012 to be even more!
It's gonna start good at least! Starting the year with her in my arms.
Come on 2012! I'm ready!

One of the greatest moment in video games history.

Yesterday I stumbled upon this video of the Opera chapter in Final Fantasy VI (Final Fantasy III for US people).
First let me say, I've always loved this song even when it ran on the 16bit system. I just love it more when it's played by a real orchestra, and real opera singers.



This game moment, was so incredible when I was young. Final Fantasy VI as a whole is still a game I consider to be one of the best of all time, and without any doubt, the best Final Fantasy, and by far!
This specific moment represents perfectly the spirit of the game, and why it is so awesome.
For those who didn't play the game (wtf are you waiting for?). I will not go into the details but, the main actress of the play is missing, and Celes is playing Maria in the play. You have to learn the lyrics before going on stage, and play Maria's part perfectly. While this little drama unfold on scene, all hell is breaking loose back stage with one of the best nemesis-type boss ever trying to ruin the party... and the finishing point of this all is just so awesome.
While this scene is played, you can truly understand how great the character development of this game is. The story between Celes and Locke... is... so...
I don't have the words... to describe it. It's just so beautiful...
This game is a must play, for everyone.

Kinda forgot about that feeling...

Every time my friends who are/were in couple talked about "omg I haven't seen her for like 3 days, I miss her bla bla bla" I was like "GOD I'VE BEEN ALONE FOR SO LONG STFU ALREADY WITH YOUR OMG 3 DAYS"

... I guess I had actually forgotten... there's a fucking huge difference between just being alone and being tired of being alone... and that weird feeling that, even if it's just been a couple of days/hours, a part of you is missing when you're not with her.

Sorry 'bout that.
Both are different feelings, both are somewhat painful, but both are true feelings.
I remember now...

So I used to have a nice header with Touhou chibis behind the title, but it's gone for some reasons, wtf....

WTF? HAPPINESSSS?!?!

While there's still place for improvement... my life right now is going so well. I'm happy.
Been such a long time since I could say this.
But right now...

• I love my Job, and I feel my work is appreciated.
• I have really good friends, on which I can count. Love my Bros, Love the Clique, and some other that don't have a special group name.
• Music sounds better than it used to for some reasons.
• Even my family seems to not have any major problem right now
• I'm madly in love.
• Got a weird but awesome relationship going on.

It feels really good right now, I hope it can stay like this for a while!

What is Love?

It's been a very long time since my last post about Love, it's meaning, it's purpose, it's effect.

I guess that the events of the last week are forcing me to think about it a lot.
My mother got remarried, even if I don't aprove of it, she seemed really happy, so it's ok.
And I fell in Love again.
But if you read my previous post, you may wonder what does that mean coming from me.

I haven't written here for a while, and during this time I've gained experience, and wisdom.
First I am not being held back by the past anymore, I am finally able to look at it and not give a fuck. So maybe that's why I am able to remember what that feeling is...

But even if I know I'm in love, it doesn't mean I can understand what love is.
But I think... it's not important to understand it... if you feel really good when with you're with someone, when you feel you can open yourself to that person, when you can spend a whole evening just staying in his/her arms, if you're relieved when you're together... If it's any good, why should you even try to seek past that point, asking yourself if it's love or not is probably just gonna screw you out of a chance to have some fun in your life, and to be happy, even if it doesn't last forever.

Catherine

So I finally played/finished Catherine.

It's a pretty good game, the puzzles are nice and really challenging. I only rage quitted once, but it was like 5:30 am... I was able to compelte that puzzle in 3 trys the next morning so, sleep helps.
That can make you understand how hard it must be for Vincent, not sleeping for a whole week.

I didn'T check all endings, but I played my first game as if I was the answering them, how would I really react if the events actually hapenned to me... and... I got a pretty bad ending, it's depressing.
Games are suposed to make you forget about RL not make you revive the worst events of your life, to the fucking details, all over again.
Fuck that shit.

FINALLY received my C80 order

So I finally received my C80 order... While I'm happy to have it, it took so long I will not buy from w-canvas ever again.

A guy has his distress lights on, and  is standing outside his car, I stop beside, he ask me what he should do, should he call the police?
I say: look there's one over there!
The guy waves at the police, the light turn green, I so I leave, since he has what he wanted. The policeopen their lights and go after me.
I stop.
Police guy: "you have a burned light,$$".
I guess it was way more important to go tell me that I had a burned light, and make some bucks on me, than to go help the guy who needed it.
Way to serve and protect.
Fuck You.

Why am I not posting? - Disgaea!

So I didn't post in time for comiket, and I haven't been posting at all lately, (not that I post that much usually). And the reason is: Disgaea.
Disgaea 4 is coming out in about a week, and I wanted to finish all other Disgaeas that I had never played before it does.
I bought Disgaea 3 a while ago when I bought my PS3, but I had never played Disgaea 1 and 2, so I'm doing a marathon.
I finished Disgaea 1 saturday, so I have to rush Disgaea 2 this week and next week, but I don't think I'll finish in time... not sure if I'll finish it before I play Disgaea 4 or if I'll just play the new one as soon as I get it...

Beside this sentence, this post has 5 sentences and the word Disgaea is used 8 times...

1st, let me say I'm sorry for saying in my last post "I'm gonna continue tomorrow" and never actually doing it. In case you haven't figured this out yet, I'm not gonna continue it. The album is great though so you should listen to it.

1 year ago, I was in Japan, having the time of my life.
which means, Comiket 80 is soon. and Since I'm not in Japan this time, I will have to order CDs instead of living the thrill of Comiket shopping.
Last year I missed Otakuthon because I was in Japan, while I love Otakuthon, I'd miss it again to be at Comiket again instead haha. But this time I'll be at Otakuthon.

Kimino-Museum - ataraxia - 願うは儚き幻想の

My love for Kimino-Mueum's works is no longer a secret for anyone, I teel everyone who will listen how incredible they are. So this should review will not be a surprise for anyone knowing or following me.

When I first listened to this album, I was not too impressed, it sounded ok, but following Viator de Memoria, if felt somehow... ordinary...
The problem... or maybe the best quality of Kimino-Musem is that their music are not ment to be instant hit. Their music is an intelligent music, that needs a good listening to appreciate to it's rightful value. I didn't have much time lately to actually just sit (actually lay in this case) down and just 'listen' to the music, and concentrate on it.
The album I decided to listen to was Ataraxia, and when I decide to write a review a 12:30 when I work in the morning the day after it's because it deserve to be talked about.

This album is a Touhou arrange album, which means that all songs on the album are based on a theme from one of the Touhou project games.  all of these song can however be appreciated without any knowledge of the source... but shame on you if you don't  know what Touhou is.

I could say again that as in all of their albums, Tymizz's drum is flawless, the vocal harmony of the vocalists is perfect and soothe my soul, the guitar riff are impressive and yet subtle and the piano brings in a very strong emotive note, But I just dud that.

I'm pretty tired and can't write this review anymore haha, I'll edit/ continue this tomorow.

On a last note before I leave though. Tymizz is probably the best drummer in the Touhou music scene and track 6 of the album, 紅美鈴の心象風景 is just another proof of this!

Nadeshicon 2011

Nadeshicon was this week-end, and it was awesome!
We did have some problem at the start, none of the projection rooms we're opened on time, the first panelist did not show on time, the University technician did not show on time, which caused the dealer's room to not open on time (for the dealers, however it was ready on time for the public)

Except the first 4 hours which were crazy, everything else went well. We didn't have any major security issues. And we had a lot more people than expected. With everyone counted in we had 610 person, so drop this maybe to around 560 congoers if you remove dealers and staff.

It was a great success, and I really hope there will be a Nadeshicon 2012.

Reitaisai 8 is on it's way!

So Reitaisai 8 is coming march 13, and the circles have started to upload their crossfades and album previews, so far not many have been released, but enough to know that I'm gonna spend quite a bit of money on this event.

Most of the circle I watch have not yet released any statement for Reitaisai 8, C-CLAYS and Silver Forest are gonna be there but no new album has been announced.

Moving on!

After a little more than a year and a half, I'm leaving Activision's QA in quebec. This was a great experience, I met good people there, good friends, and people I hope I'll see again. 

But It's time I move on. I got myself a new job. Web programming, like 2 street beside where I was already working. It's what I studied for, and it pays a lot more...

I'm kinda rusty though so I hope I dont messe up!

Winter-Een-Mas 2011 - Results

So Winter-Een-Mas 2011 is over. It was pretty awesome, Q-Otaku hosted 2 events, a LAN party and a Video Game tournament. Both were really fun.

I have not accomplished all of my goals I had set for Winter-Een-Mas;

• 3D Dot Game Heroes: did not complete because the game crashed too much and got me mad.
• 1CC Touhou 6, 7 and 8 (normal): Did not finish mainly because I was doing the next point:
• Finish Touhou  6, 7, 8, 10, 11 or 12 at lunatic: I actually did 6 AND 7!
• Listen to even more Doujin Music: Well I listened to ONLY Doujin music all week long.
• If I watch any Anime during that time period, they will have to be video game related.: did not watch any, so it's ok

3/5 with the most awesome one being completed! I actually beaten 2 Touhou game at lunatic!

Even if winter-een-mas is done, I'm gonna try to do the others at lunatic, and 1cc normal soon.

Touhou 7, Yuyuko is dead too.

While I was on the extreme rush of adrenaline caused by beating Touhou 6 at Lunatic, I tryed to do it in Touhou 7 too... Well Yuyuko is much easier than Remilia, and down she goes! I have beaten Touhou 7 at Lunatic.

I just finished Touhou 6 - The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil - at Lunatic!
I'm amazed I was able to do it, even If I did put it on my list of goals for Winter-een-mas, I did not actually expect to do it... WOOHOO!!!!!!!

Winter-Een-Mas 2011

Winter-Een-Mas 2011 is coming soon, so I tough I should take a break from my Star gate marathon and set myself some goals for the celebrations.

• Start and finish 3D Dot Game Heros.
• 1CC Touhou 6, 7 and 8 (normal).
• Finish Touhou  6, 7, 8, 10, 11 or 12 at lunatic.
• Listen to even more Doujin Music.
• If I watch any Anime during that time period, they will have to be video game related.

That's pretty much it. Winter-een-mas starts Tuesday.

Peace, Mahjong and Music

So... Peace seem to have finally come in the Anime Community in Quebec city. Is it real? Is it to stay? No Idea but at least for now my blog will stop being a war zone... let hope this truce will last.

Last week-end there was the first found raising even for nadeshicon, and during that event there was a mahjong game... yes just one since we really suck at it right now. But everyone had fun, and we decided to start a Riichi Mahjong club in quebec city. I have been planning to start this club for at least3 months but had to find people (at least 4) to play with me, now it'S done, it's official, and all we need now is ... a mahjong set!
Since we created the club, I've been re-watching Saki episodes, this show is awesome, and I remember why it got me into mahjong... however... I still haven't found the way to make thunder when I get a tsumo...

I'm still listening to the C79 stuff that is coming out so no review yet, but here my opinion on the releases I got and listened to so far:

The Awesome:
Inocent Key - ココボク MUSIC PARTY
This album surprised me, especially after listening to the cross-fade... I was not expecting much, even if I love Koko's voice. But this album is full of energy, her voice is very cute and most songs are pretty good to listen to, especially "Shirley!!".

The good:
SOUND HOLIC - 文 -BUN-
While nobody would be able to like every song on this album, everyone should like about 2-3 of them, at least. This a mixed album, with about 1-2 song per music style. So even if I wouldn't listen to the whole album, everyone can find something for them in there.

Innocent Key - 叙聖のクオリア
The songs are good, especially koko's one, but this is a story driven cd, and I wasn't able to get my hand on the story part, so as of yet, not enough music, and no story, so I can't really tell much about this album... except: you should listen to "地底惨憺劇 ～Remontant rose～"

君の美術館 - Viator de memoria - Episode II - 
While not at awesome as episode 1, it's still a very good album, but I'll have to re-listen to it and make a full review of it.

The Meh...:
ALBATROSICKS - MERGE THE STRAWBERRY!
Only remixes of old songs, nothing new... while 1-2 songs are nice, the originals were better, kinda disappointed.

That's pretty much it for now, lots of good albums, but nothing awesome... (except koko's music party)

Les petites guerre de politicailleries de la scene des Conventions au Québec

J'en ai marre.
C'est apparament le prix que je doit payer pour avoir essayer d'aider du mieux que j'ai pu... pour avoir donner de mon temps personnel, en masse! Pour être rester réveillé pendant toute un convention afin de s'assurer de son succès, pour avoir fait des lifts a du monde qui me le demandais. On me remercie comment? Toujours en salissant plus mon image avec plus et plus de mensonges encore.
La dernière foi je m'étais dit: bon pas de problème je ne vais pas démentir ces mensonges et je vais juste 'fermer ma gueule comme sa ces petite 'game' vont finir.

Mais apparament non.
Sa drain mon énergie a un point extreme de voir une gagne d'hypocrite gaspillé de leur énergies a essayer de ruiner ma vie...
