Innocent Key - 東方セレブ

Reitaisai 7's release from Innocent Key, 東方セレブ (Touhou Celeb).
The preview videos for the album were great so I had been expecting this one for a while, but only crappy version was available on the web until yesterday. You can see the videos on the album's page on Innocent Key's website here.

The album in a whole is pretty average, most of the song are so~so and the engrish in some is simply awful, A handful l of song manage to save the album. Of course the two song from the videos, 東方格差社会 ~ウサビーズへようこそ!~ and 東方セレブ ~ABUNAI SISTERS~, are as good as they were on the videos, but Miko's and ARM's participation in the album is really what saves it for me. Miko's voice is as wonderful as always and still does the best Cirno around in the song 歌舞伎町の⑨イーン. While I don't know exactly where all the musics come from in ARM's mix, it's simply epic.

The surprise in this CD comes from track 9 however. the song 'Concealed.' probably has one of the best drums I've heard in any Touhou arrange album before. The guitar is pretty solid and the vocals are great. This track is probably worth a purchase by itself.

If you like IOSYS you'll probably enjoy the album, while not completely, the good tracks on it are really worth it.

8/10
also Miko's voice is awesomely awesome.

AKG k 271 Studio

Before anyone who stumbles upon this post start to read, I am by no way an Audiophile. I love music, I was tired of shitty headphones, had a big tax return and decided to treat myself to some good stuff.

Now the review.

The look (because, you know it's important to look bad ass): They me not be as beautiful as the 701 or 702, but they have the same design overall, a pretty fucking nice design if you ask me. They are black, closed, and give a look of "omg these look like some GOOOODDDD headphones"

The Sound: Well headphones are all about sound, but like I said, I'm not an audiophile. With that said, these headphones sound just awesome. The gain is good enough to have the perfect volume on my stereo. I even noticed a third guitar in the song "serenade of darkness" by "Axel rudi Pell" I had never noticed before.

The comfort: Once again, I've tried the 701 when I went to buy these, they don't compare, but they are still very comfortable, I don't think I'd go for 8 hours wearing them if I could avoid it. But they are still very comfortable, even with my glasses on, the pression on the side is minimal.

The misc: there's a sweet feature that make the headphones auto-mute when you remove them. I think it's neat, but I can see that being a trouble in the future, and something that might be 'the first thing to break' on them. The cable in unplugable from the headphones so if the cable get damaged, it can be changed by itself.

Overall: 250$ is not cheap, but I'm very happy about buying these. I do not regret buying them and I enjoy every seconds I have them on my head. While they could have been a little more comfortable, I have nothing to say against the sound or anything else.
9/10

Also I need to get better quality encode of most of my music now... ><

Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.
The last movie from Kyoto animation, in the Haruhi Suzumiya series. It got out in Japanese cinemas February 6th 2010. Mazui subbed it a couple of days ago so I was finally able to check it out.

I'm a big fan of Haruhi, I've bought every Novel out in English so far, bought the special edition of the first season's DVD.
Then Season 2 come out, Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody was awesome and really got my hopes up... but then... there was... Endless 8... 8 time the same episode, slightly changing angles and clothes... over and over again... I understand the principle of it, it's time recursion it have to feel like a long time, and it had to feel boring so we felt what Yuki felt... but 8 time is just way too much. The idea would have been great if it would have been 3 or 4 episodes at most. Maybe they wanted 8 episodes because a 8 sideways if the infinity sign...
Anyway, Haruhi franchise took a big drop after this, the remaining episodes of the season 2 were good but not good enough to excuse the endless 8 fiasco.

However, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, is so awesome, that if put back the Haruhi franchise even above what it was after season 1.
The acting of the Seiyu is perfect, the animations are simply wonderful. Unfortunately, the version I saw had a pretty bad image quality since it came from a Camera rip, but, even having to deal with the eye cancer it can cause, it really worth it to see an animation of that quality. The story by Nagaru Tanigawa is so deep and complex, leaving you with that "wtf" feeling that a good show gives you, while giving you enough answer to actually not become a "we're just fucked up" show. Without going into too much details, the plot surprised me, which has become a very rare thing from any movie or series. It was excellent and the development of the characters was also done masterfully.
I haven't read that part of the novel yet since it is not out in English as of the time of this posting, however I've read on a forum that some parts of the story that would have been needed were excluded from the movie. I felt the movie was complete in itself, even if it left some unanswered questions, but there is still 6 more books to cover after that so it's only normal that a lot of questions are unanswered.

It's a must see for any Anime fan, and a 'you will die if you don't see it' for any Haruhi fan.
10/10.

Also...
Nagato is my Goddess. I love her.
Praise Nagato!

Dealing with stupid people sucks

Did you know it? dealing with stupid people sucks, especially when you have to deal with them in order to organize a big event in your city, and they are not even from your city, and they somehow got involved because some other people, almost as stupid as the first one, think they are important.
